New Cars for Taxi Use in India — 2026 Prices

For 7-seater outstation work the Ertiga Tour M at ₹9.86 lakh is the value pick and the Toyota Innova Crysta at ₹19.72 lakh the premium one. Factory commercial trims — Maruti's Tour range and Tata's Xpres range — cost less than the equivalent retail car and come CNG-ready from the plant.

The cheapest new vehicle you can put on a T-permit. Van practicality at hatchback money.
Tata Xpres — Tigor Petrol, Twin-CNG & Xpres-T EV
The only fleet range built as a fleet range. Twin CNG cylinders keep the boot — and an EV option nobody else offers.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
32.85 km/kg with a cabin passengers do not mind. The hatchback that also works as a private car.

Hyundai Aura (Bi-Fuel CNG)
The passenger-pleasing alternative to a Dzire. Better cabin, better ratings, slightly higher running cost.

India's default app-cab. The Tour S is the factory taxi trim of the Dzire — cheaper than the private car, built for 300 km days.
Honda Amaze
The refinement pick. No factory CNG, so it only makes sense on corporate contracts, not app-cab economics.
