Toyota Rumion — Price & Specs for Taxi Use
An Ertiga with a Toyota badge and Toyota service. Costs more, and for some clients that badge is the point.
The Rumion is Toyota's rebadged Ertiga, built alongside it and mechanically identical. It costs more than the Ertiga Tour M and there is no commercial trim, but it comes with Toyota's service experience and warranty — which matters to corporate clients who specify Toyota by name in contracts.

What it actually costs on the road with a T-permit
Commercial (yellow plate) registration is not the same as private. Road tax is charged on a different slab, and you also pay for the permit, fitness certificate and commercial insurance. As a working figure, budget ₹11.06 L – ₹17.05 L on-road for Toyota Rumion with commercial registration in Delhi NCR. Rates differ by state and permit type, so always ask the dealer for a written commercial quote — the private on-road price they show first is not what you will pay.
Running Cost — What You Will Actually Spend
ARAI figures are lab numbers. These are derated to what operators report under real commercial duty — AC on, passengers aboard, city traffic.

| CNG | 26.11 km/kg | 21.4 km/kg | ₹3.55 | ₹15,974 |
Fuel only — excludes EMI, insurance, servicing, tyres and permit renewal. Assumes CNG at ₹76/kg, petrol at ₹95/l and diesel at ₹88/l (Delhi, July 2026) over 30 working days.

Where You Can Run It
| Platform | Category | Eligible |
|---|---|---|
| Uber | UberXL | Yes |
| Ola | Prime SUV | Yes |

Eligibility assumes a commercial yellow-plate RC, a valid city taxi or All India Tourist Permit, and commercial insurance. Vehicle age caps vary by platform and city.
Finance on a New Rumion
New commercial vehicles finance more easily than used ones. For Toyota Rumion, banks and NBFCs typically fund 80–90% of the ex-showroom price over a 3–5 year term, provided you hold a valid permit and can show income. Rates on new commercial vehicles run below used-vehicle rates because the asset is fresh collateral.
- Manufacturer finance arms (Toyota dealers) usually quote fastest, but not always cheapest.
- Your existing bank will often better a dealer quote if you already run an account with them.
- Get the commercial on-road figure in writing before you compare EMIs; dealers often quote the private one.
Buy Sell Taxi does not lend. We put you in touch with the dealer and you arrange finance directly with them or your own bank.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Toyota Rumion just a rebadged Maruti Ertiga?
Yes — it is built in the same plant on the same platform with the same 1.5-litre engine and gearbox. The differences are the badge, the front and rear styling, the dealer network and the warranty terms. Mechanically there is nothing to separate them.
Should I buy a Rumion or an Ertiga Tour M for taxi use?
On pure economics the Ertiga Tour M wins: it is roughly ₹2.7 lakh cheaper for the CNG variant, has commercial-channel pricing and stronger taxi resale. The Rumion makes sense when a corporate client specifies Toyota in the contract, or when you want Toyota's extended warranty and service standards on a high-mileage vehicle.
What mileage does the Toyota Rumion CNG give?
ARAI certifies 26.11 km/kg on the CNG variant. Under commercial load expect 21–23 km/kg, which is essentially identical to the Ertiga Tour M since the powertrain is shared.

Or Buy a Used Rumion Instead
A used Rumion with a commercial RC already in place skips the registration and permit process entirely — and costs a fraction of new.
