CNG Requirement for Delhi Taxis
Following the Supreme Court order, all taxis plying within Delhi NCR must be CNG-powered. Diesel taxis above 10 years of age are banned in Delhi. Electric vehicles are an approved alternative and are eligible for all permit types. Petrol vehicles can still operate with valid permits but face stricter emission checks.
How to Apply for a Taxi Permit in Delhi
Applications are processed at Delhi Transport Authority offices. The main offices are at: IP Estate (central), Burari Road (North Delhi), Loni Road (East Delhi), Peeragarhi (West Delhi), and Saket (South Delhi).
